北京京兆尹餐飲文化有限公司簡稱京兆尹,位於北京東城重點文化保護區內,比鄰雍和宮,介於成賢街國子監、孔廟等古跡與五道營胡同之間,遊人如織,文化香火薪傳。京兆尹外觀為四合院古建築格局,由美國麻省理工學院建築系教授、北京大學建築學研究中心創始人張永和親自參與空間設計,依天地人和自然規律,打造了一個虛實與光影錯落有致的空間,春攬百花秋邀月,夏沐涼風冬嬉雪。院落環境舒適優雅,金磚鋪地,四季清涼。以農作物命名七個包間:“麥堂”、“穀間”、“薏館”、“黍屋”、“梁軒”、“稻室”、“豆斎”,一粒一粟,當思來之不易。 京兆尹引進奈子科技負離子噴霧,氤氳於院落、夾道與竹林之間,潤物無聲。瓦、磚、木、麻等元素大膽翻新,重新定位,呈現出中西合璧、自在活潑的輕鬆氛圍,雖處鬧市,身心暫歇,忘卻一身塵霾,人亦融入環境中成為一道風景。

A Historical Landmark in Dongcheng, Beijing

Kingsjoy is located in the heart of the old Beijing cultural district immediately opposite the Lama Temple at the Wudaoying Hutong and surrounded by historically significant landmarks in the Beijing Old City such as Bo Lin Si, the Imperial Academy, the Confucius Temple and Cheng Yin Street neighborhood. Kingsjoy is jointly formed and headed by the success of the original Kingsjoy brand, Canadian Chinese David Yin and his Chinese entrepreneur partners.

The Design

Beijing architect Yung Ho Chang, MIT Professor of Architecture and former Department Chair, and his firm Atelier FCJZ took on the challenge of design; Professor Chang was personally involve at all stage of the development. While the prominent architect’s fondness for old Beijing courtyards is well know, at Kingsjoy he continued to innovate by combining the architectural traditions of old Beijing with a modern sensibility. The material pallet of the restaurant reinforces this concurrence with the use of traditional building materials of tile brick, wood and hemp together with unexpected and delightful modern juxtapositions. The architectural vision set by Professor Chang has resulted in a dining environment that is elegant, composed and yet full of surprise. The design distinguishes. Kingsjoy from its peers in Beijing and positions it to become among the world’s top restaurants. Through its offering to a fresh, healthy, vegetarian cuisine in a comparable prepared venue, Kingsjoy is an arts and culture center promoting healthy and sustainable life styles to both the international and local communities in Beijing.

The Cuisine

There is an old Chinese proverb that says “Food is at the center of people.” The name Kingsjoy(京兆尹)is the title of the ancient Chinese government official,the equivalent of today’s city Mayor. In 2012,the internationally recognized food vendor returned to its hometown of Beijing. Kingsjoy is committed to bringing together the best in both Eastern and Western Vegetarian culinary arts to Beijing. Putting on the table the best, freshest vegetable ingredients from around the world combined with the craft of a Michelin three-star, renowned Master Vegetarian Chef Ci Shi. Uncle Ci’s direct supervision, using only raw materials that meet or exceed our stringent selection criteria, we pledge to use only 100% fresh, naturally grown ingredients meeting the KJ-001 exporting standard in our cooking.

The Bar and the Kiln

We Strive to achieve a memorable, tranquil dining atmosphere that delights all the senses of our guests. The bar is designed with considerable visual qualities that impress upon one’s visual senses on entry. It serves to both prepare and display a wide collection of fine wines and fresh juices with nutrients extracted from natural berries and vegetables. There is a traditional kiln oven in which fresh bread, pizza, and biscuits are baked daily through out reminiscent of a warmed home-cooked meal.

The Artworks

The original founder of Kingsjoy is a Beijing opera fan, and he met then renowned calligrapher and artist Zhang Da Qian(張大千)who not only shared the same love of Beijing Opera but cooking healthy cuisine as well. In 1978,Zhang Daiqian presented to Kingsjoy Taipei 2 scrolls of Chinese calligraphy, artworks that today hang in the Kingsjoy Beijing. These two pieces of art are considered heirloom treasures today. The culinary menus of Zhang Daqian’s and his family were incorporated into today’s Kingsjoy menu. The distinguished dishes include: Jasmine Rice with Asparagus, Sunflower Braised Bamboo Shoots, Taiwan Mushroom Tofu and Basil, and Pine Mushroom with Cheese Balls, to name a few.

The Atmosphere

Kingsjoy in Beijing operates out of roughly 2,210 square meters, accommodates up to 210 guests at a time, and serves as a venue for various activities. Upon entering, one is immediately surrounded by the serene and elegant environment that contrasts greatly with that of the bustling Beijing streets outside. Modern technologies such as negative ion sprays are used throughout open ares to provide both a welcoming cooling effect as well as cleansing of pollutants from outside. The central outdoor countryard at the heart of the restaurant is both cozy and comfortable evoking memories of the deep relationships that traditional courtyards played in local Beijing residents’ lives. The ever-changing seasons are carefully reflected within the courtyards’ landscaping design-Spring flower blossoms, Summer cool breeze, and Winter white snows. Attention to detail can be seen everywhere. Every measure of care has been put in to the environment to enhance each guest’s experience. For example, thoughtful features such as touch-less motion-censored restrooms with automatic doors and faucets, to silk chandeliers for soft lighting, to the simple hemp walls. These all contributes to a serene, understated quality sought for this special place that simultaneously promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Kingsjoy Today

Kingsjoy was founded more than half a century ago and it has matured into a major culinary force throughout the China region and internationally. It has garnered many international accolades and awards. Kingjoy dishes and particularly our desserts are officially designated to be served in the Taipei National Museum as well as at many dignitary and leadership fuctions. In addition, Kingsjoy has been selected as food vendor for meals onboard seven international airline routes. In 2012, Kingsjoy again embarked on a venture to provide innovative, healthy and natural, vegetarian cuisines to the public promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyle. We provide a total of VIP rooms. If a customer wishes to reserve a room, the minimum expenditure is from 799 yuan per person with an additional 15% of service fee. Business hours are every day 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
